Fiesta Flowers Bowl



1 Let's Gather Our Supplies
Stems & Leaves:
1. Double load the #8 flat brush with Thicket and Grass Green. Using the chisel edge of the brush and leading with the Grass Green, pull several short strokes from the base for the side view flowers. Slide a longer stroke to form the stems.

2. Double load the 3/4" flat brush with Thicket and Grass Green. Add a touch of Flow Medium and Blend well to soften the colors. Using the flat side of the brush, paint the one stroke leaves.

Bug:
1. Load the #8 flat brush with Calypso Sky. Paint two teardrop shaped strokes to form the wings.

2. Use the bottle tip of Licorice Dimensional and add to the head, tail and antennae.

3. Load the #2 script liner with Hot Pink. Add an accent line to the wings.

4. Load the #2 script liner with Wicker White. Add the highlight and another accent line to the wings.

Stripes & Dimensional Details:
1. Double load the 3/4" flat brush with Hot Pink and Wicker White. Add a touch of Flow Medium and blend well to soften the colors. Using the flat side of the brush, pull strokes to make squares along the top rim of the bowl. Leave spaces the width of the brush between the stripes.

2. Double load the #8 flat brush with Thicket and Grass Green. Using the flat side of the brush, pull strokes to add stripes to the right of the Hot Pink stripes.

3. Double load the #8 flat brush with School Bus Yellow and Grass Green. Using the chisel edge, add thin stripes to the left of the Hot Pink stripes.

4. Use the bottle tip of Licorice Dimensional to paint squiggly stripes to the right of the green stripes on the rim.

5. Use the bottle tip of Wicker White Dimensional and outline and add details to the flower petals.

6. Use the bottle tip of Licorice Dimensional and add a spiral to the center of the large flower.

7. Use the bottle tip of Fresh Foliage Dimensional to outline and add detail lines to the one stroke leaves. Allow to dry.

Surface to Paint:
7" Terra Cotta Azalea Pot
9" Terra Cotta Bowl

2   Prepare Surface

1. Remove all stickers and glue residue.

2. Wash the pot and bowl with soapy water. Let dry completely.

3. Load the 1 1/2" basecoating brush with Calypso Sky. Apply one coat to the bowl. Allow to dry completely, then apply a second coat if needed.

4. Load the 1 1/2" basecoating brush with School Bus Yellow. Apply one coat to the terra cotta pot. Allow to dry completely, then apply a second coat if needed.

3   Paint the Design

Five Petal Flower:
1. Double load the 3/4" flat brush with Hot Pink and Wicker White. Blend well to soften the colors. Keeping the Hot Pink to the outer edge, paint the teardrop shaped petal. Connect 5 of these petals at one center to form a flower.

2. Using the same brush, colors and stroke, paint a few petals that overlap each other to form the side view blossoms. Paint the back petals first, then add the front petals. Add a couple of chisel edge strokes to the sides to mimic a side view of  petal.

Glue bowl to the bottom of the pot.
