Refer to the Color Worksheet for detailed painting instructions and practice. The brushes used on the color worksheet are smaller than the brushes used on the projects. Use the brush size that works best for your chosen surface.
Orange Flowers:
Refer to the Color Worksheet for detailed painting instructions and practice.
1. Double load the 1-1/2” Flat with School Bus Yellow and Pure Orange; using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Pure Orange to the outer edge, paint the large orange petals. Allow Drying.
2. Double load the 3/4” Flat with Magenta and Wicker White, using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Magenta to the outer edge; paint the pink petals on top of the orange petals.
3. Wipe the brush on a paper towel but do not wash and then load with School Bus Yellow, the new color will softly blend with the Magenta and Wicker White that is still in the brush. Using the flat side of the brush and keeping the magenta side to the outer edge; paint the center.
4. Load the 1” Flat with Yellow Citron and the add a touch of Thicket to one corner, using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Thicket to the outer edge; paint the large leaves and then paint the one stroke leaf. Pull stems into each leaf using the chisel edge leading with the Yellow Citron side.
5. Load the #2 Script Liner with inky Yellow Citron; outline the petals.
6. Load the #2 Script Liner with inky Thicket; outline one side of the leaves.
7. Load the #2 Script Liner with inky Wicker White; outline the petals, paint hash marks through the center, and add details in the petals.
8. Dip the handle into School Bus Yellow; dot around the center.
Large Pink Flowers

1. Double load the 1-1/2” Flat with Magenta and Wicker White, using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Wicker white to the outer edge; paint the large pink flower and buds.
2. Load the 3/4” Flat with School Bus Yellow; fill in the center.
3. Double load the 3/4” Flat with Yellow Citron and Thicket, using the chisel edge of the brush leading with the Yellow Citron; pull stems for the buds. Add Wicker White to the Thicket side of the brush, using the chisel edge leading with the Yellow Citron side; paint the scroll leaves.
4. Load the #2 Script Liner with inky Magenta, outline the petals and add details to the petals.
5. Load the #2 Script Liner with inky Wicker White add details to the petals.
Contemporary Flowers:
Refer to the Color Worksheet for detailed painting instructions and practice.
1. Double load the 3/4” Flat with Magenta and Wicker White, using the flat side of the brush keeping the Magenta to the outer edge paint the large center for the lower contemporary flower and then paint the center for the upper flower.
2. Load the #12 Flat with Pure orange and then add some Wicker White to the brush; paint the orange centers for the flowers.
3. Load the #2 Round with thinned Thicket; outline the orange center.
4. Load the #2 Round with thinned Yellow Citron, outline the orange center on top of the Thicket outline.
5. Load the #2 Round with thinned Magenta, outline the pink center of the upper flower
6. Load the #2 Round with thinned Wicker White outline the pink center of the lower flower.
7. Load the #2 Script Liner with inky Magenta; paint overlapping loops around both flowers.
Smaller Pink Flowers:

1. Double load the #12 Flat with Magenta and Wicker White, using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Magenta to the outer edge; paint the teardrop shaped petals to form the flowers.
2. Flip the brush to put the Wicker White to the outer edge, add some more flowers.
3. Load the 1” Flat with Yellow Citron and the add a touch of Thicket to one corner, using the flat side of the brush and keeping the Thicket to the outer edge; paint the multi stroke leaves. Pull a stem into each leaf using the chisel edge leading with the Yellow Citron side.
4. Dip the handle of the 3/4” Flat into Magenta; place dots randomly around the flowers. Dip the handle of the #2 Round into Yellow Citron; add dots on top of some of the Magenta dots and then dot the centers of the small flowers. Pick up a touch of School Bus Yellow on the handle for variation.
